Default XML Guild/Player Stat feed(s)?

I have searched the forum here and haven't really come across anything dealing with XML feeds (not sure what to search for other than XML feed).

Basically for those who don't know a giant XML file is generated by the servers and placed somewhere (whether it generates the feed at an inteval or on-demand is of no importance). This/these XML file(s) contain statistical information on whatever is decided upon them to include.

The simple idea here is that there could be an XML file contaning information on a guild, player character, etc... For example: you have a guild website that has a script that will read the feed and update all the information on the site to reflect your guild's stats (rank and whatnot) and the members within. Taking it further you could also combine this with an XML feed for player character stats so you could see information on a player within your guild is or just an individual player alltogether (such as level, class, titles, etc...).

If anyone here has played games like BF2 with "rank sites" you have basically seen what an XML feed is and what it is used for. The game developers already know what they are so it needs not to be explained further to them.

Some may be thinking about how much bandwidth/loading this would cost when thrown to the masses but a simple solution (if even needed) would be to do something like the following scenario:

An XML file is generated at an interval (once or twice a day, or even only a few times a week). The information to access these XML files is only distributed to certain people/fansites who then have a script to download these feeds to their mirror at these intervals. These sites can then distribute the load hit and mirroring these XML feeds virtually eliminating it. The way I see it this wouldn't cost anything if done correctly.

You could have guild sites with stat scripts or even desktop programs that can parse these XML feeds and display statistical information.

I have already contacted PlayNC and in response was told to bring this idea to the attention of the GW fansites to see an accurate community response. Sorry about the long post but who thinks this would be a great addition to the GW community?

*Note: Please disregard all spelling mistakes. I acknowledge that there may be a few.
